I am an aspiring Mythologist, with my main areas of interest comprised of American Mythology (currently focusing on the South), fairy tales, and folklore. I'm also interested in popular culture, especially concerning television shows evolving as a rich and complex storytelling device.
I am coming to this field through the Literature discipline, in which I currently teach (high school level) and in which I am preparing to undertake graduate studies. I have courted a number of schools and, while waiting to hear their responses, I am busying myself with independent study.
My recent independent studies include learning German (reading-level), learning Spanish (speaking-level), and becoming as widely read in my chosen areas as possible. In my blog, you'll be able to read whatever theorizing and responses are provoked by my studies.
Mythology, a self-designed course, completed at Huntingdon College. This is the outline of the course requirements for an interdisciplinary major in Mythology I designed and completed under the supervision of Dr. Gregory Salyer and Dr. Erastus T. Dudley.
Syllabus: American Mythology. This is the syllabus for a course I designed on American Mythology.
Earthwalked, Notes from a Mythologist. As mentioned above, this is the blog wherein I will detail my notes, theories, and responses from my independent studies and the academic road. (N.B. There's also a good deal of nattering about writing, personal reflections, and the general knick-knackery of life.)

If you'd like to read samples of my academic work, I have uploaded a few of my papers from my undergraduate career at Huntingdon College. While most are formal, there may be some informal response papers as suited the nature of the class. You can view them by clicking here (or consulting the menu above).
